Chaser vs Chasivo

An established accounts-receivable suite against a newer AI-first challenger. Compared honestly on price, reply handling, integrations and fit. Verified on each tool's own site or a hands-on trial in July 2026.

The short answer

Chaser and Chasivo both chase overdue invoices with AI, but one is established, one is newer. Chaser is a broad, established accounts-receivable platform: multi-channel reminders, AI reply drafting, cash-flow forecasting, credit monitoring, payment plans and even human debt-collection services, with published, revenue-banded pricing from about $200/mo. Chasivo is a newer, AI-first, mailbox-first challenger that sends from your own Gmail or Outlook, reads and classifies replies, and wraps it in a cockpit of survival-baseline targets, risk scores and predictive inflow — with a genuinely free entry tier.

The trade-off is depth versus accessibility: Chaser does far more and costs far more; Chasivo is lighter, cheaper to start, and newer — with some accounting integrations still paywalled and in beta.

A note on this comparison: we build Grace Period, a third tool in this space, so treat this as a competitor-vs-competitor read rather than a neutral referee’s. Every fact below was verified on each vendor’s own site or in a hands-on trial as of July 2026, with limitations stated plainly. If we’ve got something wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it.

Why this comparison matters

In the US, 56% of small businesses are owed money on unpaid invoices, averaging $17,500 each (Intuit QuickBooks, 2025), and around half of US B2B invoices are paid late (Atradius, 2024). Both Chaser and Chasivo exist to shrink that gap — the question is which model fits your business, your budget and how you already work.

Chaser — the established suite

Chaser is a mature, four-pillar accounts-receivable platform. It runs multi-channel reminders — email, SMS, auto-call, letters — alongside a payment portal, credit monitoring and payer ratings, cash-flow and receivables forecasting, formal payment plans, and human services including dedicated AR support and debt collection. Its AI Email Generator reads a customer’s reply, detects intent (promise to pay, dispute, document request) and produces a courteous draft you can send with one click.

The honest costs are price and complexity. Pricing is revenue-banded and published from roughly $200/mo (Compact) to $1,000/mo (Complete), and the breadth that makes it powerful also makes it a lot of platform for a small team to configure. One thing to note about the schedule: per Chaser’s own help documentation, pausing the reminder cadence after a client replies is a manual note-and-reminder step — the cadence otherwise stops automatically only when a payment reconciles.

Best for: SMBs, mid-market finance teams and accountants who want forecasting, credit risk, multi-channel outreach and collections in one established platform.

Chasivo — the AI-first challenger

Chasivo is a newer, AI-first chaser that sends from your own Gmail or Outlook rather than a vendor domain. Its reply handling is a real strength: in a hands-on trial it classified an incoming message as a payment confirmation, dispute, question or delay request, paused the follow-up sequence when needed, and showed the conversation in a dedicated inbox. It also detected a “we’ll pay Friday” message, logging it as a structured commitment with amount and date in a Promises/Commitments tab and notifying us.

Two honest limits. First, on drafting: the compose box was empty with an on-demand “Draft with AI” button. Chasivo detects the reply and logs the promise, but doesn’t proactively write your response or hold the schedule to the promised date for you. Second, it’s a broad cockpit: survival-baseline targets, risk scores, predictive inflow, 15+ integrations including CRM, and a public API. Its QuickBooks, Xero and FreshBooks integrations were OAuth-ready but paywalled to paid tiers and marked new/beta when reviewed. The free plan is a single seat and stamps a “Generated by Chasivo” badge on outgoing emails.

Best for: freelancers, solopreneurs and agencies who live in their own inbox, want AI to classify replies and draft on demand, and value a free starting point.

How to choose between them

If you need a full receivables function — forecasting, credit monitoring, multi-channel outreach, payment plans, collections — and have the budget, Chaser is the more complete, more proven tool. If you work out of your own mailbox, want to start free, and value AI that classifies replies and drafts on demand, Chasivo is the lighter, more accessible option — provided its beta accounting integrations cover what you need.

A third option for agencies

One more tool worth knowing for full disclosure, since we make it: Grace Period is a reply-aware chaser built specifically for agencies. Where Chaser drafts a reply and leaves the cadence to you, and Chasivo detects a promise but hands you a blank draft box, Grace Period reads the reply, automatically holds the client to the date they promised, and drafts the follow-up in their own words if it slips — no forecasting cockpit, no per-invoice fee, nothing sent without your approval. It’s the newest and smallest of the three with a tighter integration list, so it’s a fit only if a radically simple, promise-holding chaser is what you’re after.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Chaser and Chasivo?+

Chaser is a broad, established accounts-receivable suite — multi-channel reminders, AI reply drafting, cash-flow forecasting, credit monitoring, payment plans and debt-collection services, priced from about $200/mo. Chasivo is a newer, AI-first chaser that sends from your own Gmail or Outlook, classifies replies, and layers on a cockpit of survival-baseline targets, risk scores and predictive inflow. Chasivo has a free tier; Chaser does not.

Is Chasivo cheaper than Chaser?+

Yes, at the entry point. Chasivo offers a free plan (single seat, with a “Generated by Chasivo” badge on outgoing emails) and paid tiers above it. Chaser's published pricing is revenue-banded and starts at roughly $200/mo, climbing to about $1,000/mo. Note that Chasivo's QuickBooks, Xero and FreshBooks integrations were OAuth-ready but paywalled to paid tiers and marked new/beta at the time of writing.

Do both Chaser and Chasivo handle client replies with AI?+

Both read replies, and both draft with AI, but the behaviour differs. Chaser's AI Email Generator detects intent and produces a ready-to-send draft for approval. In a hands-on trial, Chasivo classified a reply (payment confirmation, dispute, question or delay request), paused the sequence when needed and logged a “we'll pay Friday” promise as a structured commitment with amount and date — but the compose box was empty with an on-demand “Draft with AI” button, so it detects rather than proactively writing your reply.

Which is better for a freelancer or solo operator?+

Chasivo leans that way — it's AI-first, sends from your own mailbox, has a free single-seat tier, and its cockpit is aimed at freelancers, solopreneurs and agencies. Chaser is heavier and pricier, built for SMBs, mid-market finance teams and accountants who want forecasting and collections in one platform. A solo operator on a budget will find Chasivo far more accessible.

Do Chaser and Chasivo connect to QuickBooks and Xero?+

Both do, with a caveat. Chaser's QuickBooks and Xero integrations are live and mature, alongside Sage, NetSuite, Dynamics and an API. Chasivo's QuickBooks, Xero and FreshBooks integrations were OAuth-ready but gated behind paid tiers and marked new/beta when reviewed, so verify current status before relying on them.
